A subdomain is part of a web address which is under the main domain name, for example name.example.com. Technically, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain since the fully qualified domain name is just "example.com". Every subdomain can have its own site and records and can even be hosted using a different company if you wish to use a certain feature that isn't offered by your current service provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a business website as well as an online store under a subdomain where clients can purchase your products. In addition, you can have a forum in which they can talk about the products and by using subdomains as an alternative to subfolders you are going to avoid any chance of all sites going down when you perform maintenance, or update one of the site scripts. Keeping the sites separated is also less risky in case there is a script security breach.

Subdomains in Cloud Hosting

Through our cloud hosting plans you're going to be able to create subdomains with a couple of mouse clicks in your website hosting CP. All of them are going to be listed in one place along with the domain names hosted in the account and grouped under their own domain so as to make their administration much easier. Whatever the plan that you choose, you will be able to create many subdomains and set their access folder or create custom error pages along the way. Additionally, you'll have access to lots of functions for any of them with only a mouse click, so from the very same section in which you create them you can access their DNS records, files, visitor statistics, etc. In contrast to other companies, we have not restricted the amount of subdomains which you can have even if you host just one domain inside the account.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our Linux semi-dedicated hosting haven't got a set limit for the amount of subdomains which you can create. Adding a new subdomain within the account takes only a couple of mouse clicks within the Hepsia hosting CP and in the process you can select the folder the subdomain is going to access if it is going to be different from the default one, create customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions if you need them or create a dedicated IP address instead of the shared server one provided you have added this upgrade to your semi-dedicated account. When the subdomain is set up, you will be able to access logs and visitor stats or you can easily jump to the website files for it in the File Manager area by using fast access buttons. All subdomains you've got within the account will be conveniently listed under their root domain, so you're going to be able to find and manage any one of them easily.
